in Congo currently housing 115 chimpanzees.
Tchimpounga
Reserve
In March 1999 an 18,000-acre reserve was created and
officially classified by the government of the Republic
of Congo and entrusted to the Jane Goodall Institute
to maintain. The reserve is in the area adjacent to
the Tchimpounga Sanctuary.
