Partnerships: Great Apes Survival Project (GRASP)

GRASP is an innovative project of the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization(UNESCO). The ultimate goal of the project is to alleviate the threat of imminent extinction which is currently facing gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans. By developing strategies and coordinating efforts that seek to halt the decline in great ape populations, GRASP aims to ensure the long-term survival of Great Ape populations within their natural habitat.
