Hotel Decorates Lobby in Honor of Jane's Birthday and New Book

Tuesday, May 13, 2014 - 1:15pm
Last month, Dr. Goodall continued on to New York City after a very successful fundraiser for her 80th birthday in San Francisco and the launch of her new book, “Seeds of Hope:  Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants”

In honor of the release of her book, Dr. Goodall’s long time friends, Suzanne and James Knowles, the owners of the Roger Smith Hotel in New York City, decorated the entire lobby with plant and floral themed artwork. Next time you are in the city, be sure to stop by 47th and Lexington to see the magnificent display and Dr. Goodall’s new book, which is available in the lobby.

Dr. Goodall was so surprised that the Knowles’s decorated the hotel just for her, saying it was such a wonderful birthday present. See Jane’s personal note of gratitude below and the stunning photos of this Jane Goodall inspired design at the eclectic New York hotel.

A big thank you to James Knowles and the Roger Smith Hotel. Look around you at the beautiful paintings of flowers. And all this was chosen to coincide with the publication of my latest book, “Seeds of Hope:  Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants”.

What a marvellous idea – I am overwhelmed. I have been staying here since 1994 because of their commitment to the environment and sustainable business practices.  It is my favorite place to stay in New York City.

Thank you again.
