On November 11, 2010, Dr. Goodall received a Bambi Award at a ceremony in Potsdam, Germany. The Bambi Awards are considered the German equivalent to the American Oscars which are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Bambi Awards are presented annually to recognize excellence in international media and television. They honor individuals "with vision and creativity who have affected and inspired the German public." Dr. Goodall was this year's recipient of the "Our Earth" Award. Past recipients include Bill Clinton, Charlize Theron, Muhammed Ali, Elizabeth Taylor, Queen Rania of Jordan and Sophia Loren, among others.

Dr. Goodall was honored in conjunction with the international release of Jane's Journey, a feature-length documentary about her life's work. The film, directed by Lorenz Knauer, follows Dr. Goodall behind-the-scenes as she travels across continents spreading her message of hope.

Dr. Goodall is joined by members of the Jane's Journey film team.
