Jane visits Pierce Brosnan

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 - 8:06pm

While Jane was in California last week to accept the Minerva Award at Maria Shriver's Women's Conference, she took a few moments to catch up with an old friend. Pierce Brosnan, the actor and environmentalist who needs no introduction, has been Jane's friend and a JGI supporter for many years.

Jane's primary reason to be in California was to promote Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots program. Jane spoke at Viewpoint School, and together with Pierce visited a water garden in Calabasas to learn about a restoration project near the Los Angeles River. Be sure to check out the Los Angeles Daily News article about the visit.

Jane and Pierce are joined by his wife, Keely Shaye Brosnan and Mary Lewis, assistant to Dr. Goodall and JGI'S vice president of outreach. Pierce and Keely Shaye were recipients of a JGI leadership award last year. They were also kind supporters of the Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots California Day of Peace celebration in Santa Monica on September 20th.

Jane shared information about her Roots & Shoots program during a talk with students at Viewpoint School.
