This week, JeJe began wanting to eat solid foods. His stomach is ready for fruits and vegetables, so every day the caregivers at the Jane Goodall Institute’s Tchimpounga sanctuary offer him a broad selection of treats. They give him small bites little by little to see what he likes.
JeJe’s current favorite is watermelon, but he also really enjoys bananas. Young orphans like JeJe need constant love and care. For this reason, two of JGI´s best caregivers, Chantal and Antoinette, look after JeJe around the clock. These two Tchimpounga experts surround JeJe with love to help him become more confident and secure.
For every Chimpanzee Blu-ray DVD Combo Pack or Digital purchase made through August 27, 2012, Disneynature will donate to the Jane Goodall Institute through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to protect chimpanzees, including those residing at the Tchimpounga sanctuary. Learn more.
JGI does not endorse handling or interfering with wild chimpanzees. The chimpanzees interacting with a caregiver in this image are orphaned and live at the Tchimpounga sanctuary.
