Ravenous Mambou

Thursday, April 12, 2012 - 2:46pm

In the weeks prior to the release of Disneynature's newest True-Life Adventure, Chimpanzee, we wanted to give you a daily glimpse into the lives of some of the youngest residents at JGI's Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo.

If you see Chimpanzee during the movie's opening week (April 20-26, 2012), Disneynature will make a donation to the Jane Goodall Institute through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to protect chimpanzees, including those residing at the Tchimpounga sanctuary.

It’s 5:30 p.m. at Tchimpounga, time to eat and sleep. Today, Mambou is hungry.  He climbs to the top of a wooden platform in his enclosure to see if the caregiver is coming with his food. Finally, he sees the caregiver as she walks towards him with a bucket of fruit.  Mambou begins to get excited and pant-hoots, celebrating the awaited moment!
