Dr. Goodall’s Spring Lecture Tour Schedule

We invite you to follow Jane this spring as she continues her journey during this especially notable year while we are celebrating her 80th birthday and she is launching her new book, “Seeds of Hope: Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants” this April. 
 
This week, Jane will begin her six-week lecture tour in the United States and Canada with stops in many places where you can have the opportunity to hear her speak in person.

Tchimpounga Receives Support from JGI Offices in Europe

Recently, several European offices of the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) including the Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands and Switzerland worked collaboratively to support JGI’s Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo through each of their Chimpanzee Guardian Programs. After securing three islands in the Kouilou River for the next phase of our sanctuary build out, the staff at Tchimpounga have been working tirelessly to advance expansion efforts while still maintaining day to day operations.

For nearly a decade, the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) has supported efforts to empower youth on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota through the Institute’s Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program.

Giving Thanks to JGI Volunteers

There are so many people all over the world who help the Jane Goodall Institute by volunteering their time or services. Every month, three special friends from Maryland travel to the JGI-USA office in ArlingtonVirginia, to help with whatever task is at hand. They have even supported JGI staffers at many of Jane's lectures and speeches in the area.

USA Tour Recap: Jane's Visit to Minnesota

The third stop on Jane's Spring 2010 USA lecture tour was to St. Louis Park, Minnesota, near Minneapolis. Jane was in town to give a keynote lecture at Beth El Synagogue, where her friend Gil Mann is president of the congregation. In front of the synagogue's beautiful stained glass windows, she spoke to a sold-out crowd of more than 1,300 people.

Jane Visits Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC

While Jane was in Washington, DC in April she not only received the AAG Atlas Award, she also spent the day at Sidwell Friends School. Sidwell Friends is a PK-12, co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD.
