Spain: Dr. Goodall to Attend Seville European Film Festival

Dr. Goodall will attend a special showing of Jane’s Journey, a feature-length documentary about her life’s work, at the Seville European Film Festival.

Germany: Dr. Goodall to Receive the Bambi Award

Dr. Goodall will receive the prestigious Bambi Award at a ceremony in Potsdam, Germany, on November 11, 2010.

The Bambi Awards are presented annually to recognize excellence in international media and television. They honor individuals “with vision and creativity who affected and inspired the German public.” Dr. Goodall will be the 62nd recipient of the award. Past recipients include Bill Clinton, Charlize Theron, Muhammad Ali, Elizabeth Taylor, Queen Rania of Jordan and Sophia Loren, among others.

Jane in Hong Kong: Roots & Shoots Asia Pacific Summit

This past month, Jane has been traveling throughout Asia as part of the global Gombe 50 celebration. She hosted the Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots Asia Pacific Youth Summit on the campus of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, on August 30. Hundreds of Roots & Shoots members joined "Dr. Jane" as she spoke about the role we must all play to help people, animals and the environment we share.

Shanghai: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Asia

Dr. Goodall will commemorate Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s year-long global celebration of her 50th anniversary of pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future, with a month-long tour of Asia throughout September.

On September 23-27, Dr. Goodall will visit Shanghai, China, for a number of events in support of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. Highlights of her itinerary include:

Jane Celebrates Gombe Day at IPS Congress in Japan

Joined by more than 25 current and former Gombe researchers, yesterday Jane celebrated Gombe Day at the International Primatological Society (IPS) congress in Kyoto, Japan. Held every two years, the Congress brings together more than 1,000 scientists, students and conservation practitioners from more than 55 countries to discuss primatological issues.
