Beijing: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Asia
Dr. Goodall will commemorate Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s global 50th anniversary celebration of her pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future, with a month-long tour of Asia throughout the month of September.
On September 15-20, Dr. Goodall will visit Beijing, China for a number of events. Highlights of her itinerary include:
Japan: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Asia

On September 10-14, Dr. Goodall will visit Japan for a number of events. Highlights of her itinerary include:
September 10: Dr. Goodall will address the Katase Elementary School Roots & Shoots group in the morning and speak to the students and staff at the Yokohama International School in the afternoon.
Long Beach, CA: Dr. Goodall’s Appearance at The Women’s Conference®
Dr. Goodall will make a special appearance at The California Governor and First Lady’s Conference on Women hosted by First Lady Maria Shriver.
Taiwan: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Asia

One extraordinary change at Gombe - I am sitting in the house on the beach where Grub grew up waiting to send a skyped message to the UK in commemoration of the 50th anniversary. When I arrived there was no faxing, no emailing - certainly no Skyping! Only telegrams if you wanted to communicate fast - and from here they took at least several days to a week. Letters took two to three weeks to get the UK, even by airmail.
Berlin: World Premiere of Jane’s Journey Film
Dr. Goodall will attend the world premiere of Jane’s Journey, a feature-length documentary film about her life’s work, at Berlin’s Astor Film Lounge on August 26.
Hong Kong: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Asia
Dr. Goodall will commemorate Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s global 50th anniversary celebration of her pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future, with a month-long tour of Asia throughout the month of September.
Uganda: Dr. Goodall to attend the African Union Summit Dinner
Dr. Goodall will be an honored guest and speaker at the African Union Summit Dinner Gala near Kampala, Uganda. This special dinner is hosted by His Excellency President Museveni and the Government of Uganda to acknowledge global health partners working for women and children in Africa.
The dinner celebrates this year’s African Union Summit and will bring together African Union Heads of State and other dignitaries to focus on collective opportunities to save more women and children from the diseases that plague them in Africa.
San Rafael, CA: Dr. Goodall’s Speech at the Bioneers Conference
Dr. Goodall will give a special plenary talk at the Bioneers Conference. Bioneers prides itself as a leading-edge forum that brings together social and scientific innovators that focus on breakthrough solutions inspired by nature and human ingenuity. Over 12,000 people attended last year’s conference.
Budongo Forest Reserve, Uganda: Dr. Goodall Tours the Region
Dr. Goodall will make a stop in the Budongo Forest Reserve area of Uganda as she finishes a month-long trip to Africa commemorating Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s global celebration of the 50th anniversary of her pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future.
