Brussels, BELGIUM: Jane’s Journey Documentary Film Screening with Dr. Goodall

On May 14, 2012, a screening of Jane’s Journey, a feature-length documentary about Dr. Goodall’s life’s work, will be held at Vrije University in Brussels, Belgium.

Dr. Goodall will participate in a question and answer session with Mr. Chris Vanden Bilcke, head of the UN Environment Programme Liaison Office to the EU, at the conclusion of the event. A book signing will also follow the screening.

Pasadena, CA: Dr. Goodall to serve as Tournament of Roses Grand Marshall

Dr. Goodall will serve as the Grand Marshal of the 2013 Tournament of Roses festivities. On New Year’s Day, in front of a world television audience, Dr. Goodall will ride in the 124th Rose Parade® presented by Honda and themed “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!.”

AFRICA: Dr. Goodall's Summer Tour of Africa

From early July to early August, Dr. Goodall will travel throughout East Africa visiting projects and advancing the programs of the Jane Goodall Institute on the ground. She will spend time in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Gombe Stream National Park and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, among other stops.

  

Dr. Goodall Urges U.S. Senate to End Invasive Medical Testing

On Tuesday, May 24, 2012, Dr. Jane Goodall submitted written testimony to the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Water and Wildlife.  The subcommittee held a hearing on several bills, including S.810, the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act of 2011 which calls for ending invasive medical testing on all captive chimpanzees in the U.S.

In her testimony, Dr. Goodall urged support for ending invasive medical research on chimpanzees, as called for in the bill.
