Jane's USA Lecture Tour Begins: Buffalo

Jane's Spring 2010 USA lecture tour kicked off at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York on April 14. Passing by Niagra Falls, Jane drove from Toronto, where she had previous speaking engagements, for a very special lecture -- the first in the United States to mark Gombe 50, a global celebration of Jane's pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future. The lecture was titled Gombe and Beyond: The Next Fifty Years.

Jane keynotes Geneva Lecture Series

Jane was the keynote speaker of the fourth edition of the Geneva Lecture Series on 26 May at the Palais des Nations, and urged us all to recognize our obligation to future generations. "When I think about how we have harmed the planet since I was their age, I feel this desperation and shame," she said. "We have compromised their future. But it’s not true that there’s nothing that can be done about it”.

Her talk was titled "Nature's wake-up call: Why we must heed the warning."

A remarkable evening

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds performed to an ecstatic audience at a sold-out benefit concert on behalf of the Jane Goodall Institute last Thursday night.
