Google has a new holiday promotion enabling you to add a Jane Goodall Institute theme to your iGoogle page.

Users can choose from the 25 dynamic "cause" themes, including JGI's, which features images of Dr. Goodall at Gombe National Park, Gombe chimpanzees, and Gregoire, who lives at JGI's sanctuary in the Republic of Congo and is one of the oldest chimpanzees alive.

Jane Goodall took time out of her world tour to stop in Washington, D.C., for the second annual Jane Goodall Institute Global Leadership Awards Celebration on Friday, November 7 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

The Awards honor the work and achievements of individuals and corporations that embody the Institute’s mission by taking informed and compassionate action on behalf of all living things.

The 2008 Jane Goodall Global Leadership Award winners included:

JGI awards global leaders at 30th anniversary bicoastal events

 On September 28, in Los Angeles, and October 10, in Washington, D.C., Jane Goodall presented the first annual Jane Goodall Global Leadership Awards to former Tanzanian President William Mkapa, US Senator Patrick Leahy, Ted Turner and others sharing her vision and commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
