On September 3-5, 2011, Dr. Goodall will visit Germany for a number of events. Highlights of her itinerary include:
September 3: In Hamburg, Dr. Goodall will be named the “Ambassador of the Green Capital of Europe” at a special ceremony attended by local members of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and the media. Later that evening, Dr. Goodall will speak about and sign copies of the German edition of her book, Hope for Animals and Their World.
On September 9, 2011, Dr. Goodall will participate in a panel discussion at the opening of the Giordano Bruno GlobalShift University. The university, located in Budapest, Hungary, is one of the world’s first global Internet-based institutions of higher learning.
Dr. Goodall will receive an honorary degree along with Deepak Chopra and Nobel Laureate Robert Mundell, among others.

On September 15, 2011, Dr. Goodall will join UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, other UN Messengers of Peace and Roots & Shoots members at the UN headquarters in New York City to commemorate the annual UN International Day of Peace. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the UN International Day of Peace resolution.
