This October, after a short stop in Toronto, Canada, Jane made her way to the San Francisco Bay Area for a number of inspiring events. Her visit began with a lecture to staff at Clif Bar & Company about sustainable food practices and the importance of conservation. Prior to her remarks, Jane met with the company’s founders, Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford, and Kevin Cleary, the company’s chief executive officer, for a tour of the Clif Bar facility.

It’s certainly been an exciting fall for Jane! After receiving an honorary degree at University of St Andrews in Scotland, she headed to New York City to take part in the UN International Day of Peace, the International Women’s Earth and Climate Initiative Summit, and the Humane Education Conference.
Dr. Goodall and Vandana Shiva will presented at The International Women's Earth & Climate Summit on September 20, 2013 in Suffern, NY. This Summit brought 100 global women leaders including grassroots activists, economists, scientists, businesswomen, Indigenous leaders, policy-makers, faith leaders and culture-shapers to help further a women’s climate action agenda.

Last week, during her recent stop in New York, and the International Women's Earth and Climate Summit, Dr. Goodall met with Dr. Vandana Shiva and CNN's Christiane Amanpour to discuss climate change, with special emphasis on the IPCC's recent report on the impact of human activity on it. Among her other remarks, Dr. Goodall specifically discussed her passion for empowering young people, and the Jane Goodall Institute's global environmental and humanitarian youth program, Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots.
Dr. Goodall Speaks on Behalf of African Elephant Conservation and Joins Call to End Poaching at Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting
Last week Dr. Goodall attended the Clinton Global Initiative's (CGI) annual meeting to speak on behalf of elephant conservation and the impact of poaching on their populations. Voice of America's, Adam Phillips captured Dr. Goodall's opening remarks which introduced an announcement of new a collaboration titled, "Partnership to Save Africa's Elephants."
