Today, April 3, is Dr. Goodall's 79th birthday. Every day, we are grateful for all Dr. Goodall does, traveling 300 days a year to spread her message of hope while encouraging all of us to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment.
Setting the record straight about Grauer’s gorilla,

To kick off the Jane Goodall Institute's Women's History Month series, we begin with a feature on our own Dr. Jane Goodall!
Jane was a featured guest on an edition of eTown, a nationally-syndicated radio show heard weekly on more than 300 public, community and commercial stations across North America and via podcast. Jane is receiving the listener-nominated Lifetime E-Chievement Award in recognition of her amazing accomplishments over the course of her life and career. Founders Nick Forster, of the legendary bluegrass band Hot Rize fame, and his wife, singer/actress Helen Forster, host the show. For more information and to find out how to tune in, visit www.etown.org.
Through Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots, the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) trains young people to become effective community leaders. By spearheading projects in their communities that seek to improve the environment and benefit people and animals, Roots & Shoots youth learn what it takes to be an effective leader.
While back in England after the Tournament of Roses festivities, Jane sent the following message to share far and wide:
