Create a Sustainable Home Garden

In her wise and elegant new book, “Seeds of Hope: Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants,” Dr. Jane Goodall with Gail Hudson, blends her experience in nature with her enthusiasm for botany to give readers a deeper understanding of the world around us. Continuing their exploration here, Dr. Goodall provides ideas and inspiration for what readers can do to get involved in and protect the world of plants.

Sustainable gardening reduces the use of chemicals and watering while enhancing the health of the local environment.

Introduction to the “Seeds of Hope” Blog Series

Any book can only be so many pages, and the world of plants is ever-evolving.  With this in mind, now that “Seeds of Hope: Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants” is scheduled for publication in April, I want to create a dialogue and share more stories about trees and plants, and, perhaps most importantly, discuss ways that you can help protect them.

Dr. Goodall Receives an Honorary Degree from Trinity College in Dublin

Last month closed an exciting chapter in Dr. Goodall’s whirlwind year, with a special visit to Dublin. Jane has received numerous awards and honorary degrees, but few people know just how many she has actually earned throughout her career. On December 6, during her trip to Dublin, Jane received her 47th honorary degree from Trinity College.

Moving into 2014 will prove to be another very exciting year for Jane.
