Today, April 3, is Dr. Goodall's 79th birthday. Every day, we are grateful for all Dr. Goodall does, traveling 300 days a year to spread her message of hope while encouraging all of us to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment.

Today is a special day! It's Jane Goodall's birthday.

As Jane turns 78 years young, she is spending her birthday in one of her favorite places on Earth...other than Gombe National Park that is! She's watching the annual migration of the sandhill cranes in Nebraska's Plate River Valley. Of course, Jane is never one to take a day off like the rest of us and so she is also busily finalizing her latest book while in the middle of her spring 2012 North American speaking tour.

If you have ever met Jane in person, you know that her special mascot Mr. H is never far behind. Given to Jane by her friend Gary Haun, a blind magician, Mr. H has been to dozens of countries and has been touched by millions of people.
