Brisbane, AUSTRALIA: Dr. Goodall at Happiness and Its Causes Conference

Jun 17 2011

9:00 a.m.

On June 17, 2011, Dr. Goodall will be a featured speaker at the Happiness and Its Causes conference in Brisbane, Australia. This innovative conference will bring together more than forty big thinkers from around the world, including the Dalai Lama.

Dr. Goodall will be part of a panel discussing the evolution of happiness. The panel will seek to answer questions such as:

  • What can nature tell us about the human condition?
  • Is there an evolutionary basis for happiness?
  • Are we hard wired to be dissatisfied?
  • What prevails in nature – the “selfish gene” or the “altruistic gene”?
  • What drives people to be brave and good?

Dr. Goodall will also speak about her groundbreaking chimpanzee behavioral research, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in July 2010. She will reflect—both personally and professionally—on the meaning of the past five decades, the extraordinary changes the world has seen since 1960, and the impact these changes have had on people, animals and the environment we all share. In addition, she will discuss the role we must all play over the next 50 years to ensure a better future for generations to come.

Please note that ticketing for this event is handled directly by the conference and not JGI.
