Chicago, IL: Roots & Shoots International Day of Peace
Founded in 1991 by Dr. Jane Goodall and a group of Tanzanian students, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program is about young people making positive change happen for communities, for animals and for the environment we all share. With hundreds of thousands of young people in more than 120 countries, the Roots & Shoots network connects youth of all ages who share a desire to create a better world.
Roots & Shoots International Day of Peace is observed across the globe. The Roots & Shoots Great Lakes Region, recognizing that Chicago is a city of neighborhoods, will be hosting and participating in five Day of Peace celebrations across the city.
