Dr. Jane Goodall Visits the United Nations for International Day of Peace

On September 21, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Dr. Jane Goodall will visit the United Nations to commemorate the UN International Day of Peace.
 

Approximately 500 high school and college students will have an opportunity to interact with UN Messengers of Peace gathered at UN Headquarters in New York along with youth from Peacekeeping Missions in South Sudan and Liberia who will be participating via videoconference. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will also address the students.
 

The theme this year – Sustainable Peace for a Sustainable Future – will focus on the role that natural resources play in financing or fueling conflict and what is being done to address these issues.
