Japan: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Asia

Dr. Goodall will commemorate Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s global 50th anniversary celebration of her pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future, with a month-long tour of Asia throughout September.

On September 10-14, Dr. Goodall will visit Japan for a number of events. Highlights of her itinerary include:

September 10: Dr. Goodall will address the Katase Elementary School Roots & Shoots group in the morning and speak to the students and staff at the Yokohama International School in the afternoon.

September 11: Dr. Goodall will travel to the Yokota Air Base, a U.S. Air Force base located in the city of Fussa, to have a lunch party with Roots & Shoots members and their parents. Later that evening, Dr. Goodall will give a keynote lecture at Keio University, the oldest institute of higher education in Japan.

September 12: Dr. Goodall travels to Kyoto for the International Primatological Society (IPS) Congress.

September 13: Dr. Goodall will participate in Gombe Day at the IPS Congress. For more information visit: http://www.ips2010.jp/
