Netherlands: Dr. Goodall’s Gombe 50 Tour of Europe

Dr. Goodall will commemorate Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s year-long global 50th anniversary celebration of her pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future, with a tour of Europe this November.

On November 18-21, Dr. Goodall will visit the Netherlands for a number of events. Highlights of her itinerary include:

November 18: Dr. Goodall will tour the Apenheul Primate Park, a unique facility that gives animals large living space to ensure freedom of movement in captivity. Apenheul has one of the largest gorilla zoo populations in the world. That evening, Dr. Goodall will speak about “passion in your work” in Brummen.

November 19: Dr. Goodall will have lunch with the board of directors and staff of JGI-Netherlands. That evening, Dr. Goodall will give a public lecture at the University of Leiden’s Gorlaeus Laboratorium for 1,000 people.

November 20: Dr. Goodall will serve as the keynote speaker at the Animal Behavior Symposium at Utrecht University. Irene Pepperberg, a renowned African grey parrot expert, will also speak at the symposium.
