NYC: Dr. Goodall’s Keynote at the Sci-Ed Innovators Conference

On February 7, 2011, Dr. Goodall will give a keynote speech at the second annual Sci-Ed Innovators Conference held at New York University.

Dr. Goodall will discuss Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots – JGI’s global environmental and humanitarian youth program. Roots & Shoots empowers young people from preschool through college to make positive change happen for people, animals and the environment we all share. With hundreds of thousands of members in more than 120 countries, the Roots & Shoots network connects youth of all ages who share a desire to create a better world. Dr. Goodall’s speech will focus on the global empowerment of youth and how we can work together to create a brighter future for all those who call this planet home.

Sponsored by the Jhumki Basu Foundation, the event will bring together science teachers, researchers, students, policy makers, corporations and foundations to share ideas for innovative teaching methods for underserved schools. Dr. Goodall’s speech will be accompanied by a multi-faceted New York area schools science expo showcasing projects inspired by Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. A book signing will follow the speech. Dr. Goodall’s books, JGI merchandise and memberships will be available for sale on site.
