Santa Monica, CA: Roots & Shoots International Day of Peace

Sep 19 2010

Event Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Founded in 1991 by Dr. Jane Goodall and a group of Tanzanian students, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program is about young people making positive change happen for communities, for animals and for the environment we all share. With hundreds of thousands of young people in more than 120 countries, the Roots & Shoots network connects youth of all ages who share a desire to create a better world.

The Roots & Shoots International Day of Peace is observed across the globe. This year marks the 8th annual Day of Peace Festival in Santa Monica. Festival highlights include: live music, celebrity guests, arts and crafts, inspiring youth projects, earth conscious vendors and exhibitors, pet adoptions, a food drive, and a peace dove parade. The event is free and open to the public.

Please note that Dr. Goodall will not be present at this event.
