Uganda: Dr. Goodall to attend the African Union Summit Dinner

Jul 26 2010

Dr. Goodall will be an honored guest and speaker at the African Union Summit Dinner Gala near Kampala, Uganda. This special dinner is hosted by His Excellency President Museveni and the Government of Uganda to acknowledge global health partners working for women and children in Africa.

The dinner celebrates this year’s African Union Summit and will bring together African Union Heads of State and other dignitaries to focus on collective opportunities to save more women and children from the diseases that plague them in Africa.

Dr. Goodall’s participation at the dinner coincides with her tour of Africa commemorating Gombe 50, the Jane Goodall Institute’s global celebration of the 50th anniversary of her pioneering chimpanzee research and inspiring vision for our future.

During the Summit, the United Nations Foundation will premiere “A New Picture of Health,” a documentary narrated by Dr. Goodall that examines the work of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria across the developing world. For more information about the documentary please visit:

Please note that this event is not open to the general public.
