Warsaw, POLAND: Dr. Goodall at Planete Doc Film Festival

On May 7, 2011, Dr. Goodall will attend the Planete Doc Film Festival in Warsaw, Poland. Jane’s Journey, a feature-length documentary about Dr. Goodall’s life’s work, will be screened at the festival. Later in the day, Dr. Goodall will be at the Copernicus Science Center for a special conversation about her career and experiences with Martyna Wojciechowska, chief editor of National Geographic Poland.

Jane’s Journey, directed by Lorenz Knauer, follows Dr. Goodall on her travels across several continents. From her childhood home in Bournemouth, England, to the shores of Lake Tanganyika at Gombe National Park to lecture halls in the United States, Jane’s Journey offers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes view into Dr. Goodall’s intense and exciting life. The film is an intimate portrait of the private person behind the world-famous icon.

Jane’s Journey was produced by Neos Films and CC Medien in association with Animal Planet/Discovery Communications, Sphinx Media, SWR/arte Cinepostproduction, and Licht & Ton with financial support from FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, Deutscher Filmf√∂rderfonds, Filmf√∂rderungsanstalt. The film’s world premiere was in Berlin, Germany, in August 2010.
