Letter from Dr. Jane Goodall, Founder
Dear Members and Friends of JGI,
This past year, as was the case for the previous 23 years, I was “on the road” for some 300 days, traveling through North America, Europe and parts of Africa and Asia. The continuing global economic crisis made it difficult to raise funds for our programs—and made it even more important to raise awareness as to the role each one of us can play in creating a more sustainable world.
One of the highlights, for me, was the publication of my latest book, Hope for Animals and Their World, co-authored with Thane Maynard and Gail Hudson. I started work on this book several years ago. There is so much doom and gloom out there about the continuing threats to wildlife and the environment that many of the people I meet are losing hope. Yet we have not lost the battle.
