Camp Inventory

 

Here are some of the things Jane had. . .

  •   lanterns & fuel
  •   journals/paper/pens/pencils
  •   typewriter
  •   small tape recorder/blank tapes
  •   binoculars
  •   alarm clock
  •   canned food
  •   pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups,
  •   thermos, canteens, etc (tin, so they won’t
  •   break)
  •   cot, blankets, pillow
  •   tents, tarps, ropes, stakes
  •   medicine, first aid kit
  •   tin box for coffee/tea (for the long hours
  •   in the wilderness)
  •   table/desk
  •   camp chairs
  •   ‘drab’ clothes (greens and browns to blend
  •   in with the surroundings)
  •   music (records/record player)

Here are some other things you might want, some of which Jane had, too, and some of which weren't yet invented when Jane began her study in 1960. . . .

  •   flashlights, headlamps, batteries
  •   laptop (laptop batteries and a solar
      charger)
  •   camera & film
  •   video camera & tapes
  •   good, sturdy, comfortable boots
  •   socks, lots of socks
  •   buckets and tubs
  •   daypack
  •   belts and elastic-waisted pants
  •   towels
  •   books (plant and animal identification, translation dictionaries, perhaps a favorite
      novel or two)
  •   raingear
  •   Swiss Army knife/leatherman tool
  •   microscopes, magnifying glasses, rulers, scales, and other scientific instruments
