Study Corner - Jane's Camp in Gombe

Jane Goodall went into the Tanzanian forest to study chimpanzees when she was 26 years old. Imagine you are in the forest studying chimpanzees. What items would you need to have with you? What would your camp look like? What do you think Jane wore when she was walking in the forest? What items did she have with her?

Make a list of what items you might need to live on your own in the forest to study chimpanzees. For example, you would need a tent to sleep in. You would want binoculars to see the chimpanzees from a distance. What else would you take?

Then, click here to see what Jane had in her camp.
